As the temperature begins to drop and we approach the end of the year, Winston-Salem comes alive with fall festivals, activities, and events! Here is a sampling of some of the exciting opportunities in our region:
Fairs and Festivals

Hispanic League Fiesta (Oct 5)
- A lively celebration of Hispanic heritage, with music, dance, food, and cultural displays in downtown Winston-Salem.

Carolina Classic (Oct 4-13)
- One of the largest agricultural fairs in the Southeast, the Carolina Classic is filled with rides, entertainment, and delicious fair food!

Apple Family Farm Fall Festival (October 12)
- The Apple Family Farm in Kernersville will have food trucks, live music, and fall fun for all ages.

Autumn Leaves Festival (Oct 11-13)
- Located in Mount Airy, NC, aka Mayberry, is a widely known festival that takes place in the center of town. The festival will have local artists, plenty of delicious food and drink, and excellent live music.

Rierson Farms Fall Festival (Oct 19)
- Rierson Farms, in Thomasville, will be open for this festival complete with fairy hair, face painting, raffles, and the pumpkin patch!

Yadkin Valley Grape Festival (Oct 19)
- This festival, in Yadkinville, NC, celebrates the delicious wines of the Yadkin Valley! Purchase a ticket ahead of time for a discounted wine tasting, and enjoy live music, local vendors, and more!

Piedmont Craftsmen Fair (Nov 23-24)
- Held the weekend before Thanksgiving, this nationally recognized arts and crafts fair showcases handmade works by artisans and is a highly anticipated annual event.

Spectacular Holiday Blooms (Nov 24-Dec 30)
- Ciener Botanical Garden in Kernersville will get you geared up for wintertime with the Spectacular Holiday Blooms–“flowers” fashioned with recycled plastic bottles!
Live Music & Theater

Little Theater of Winston-Salem
- This October and November, the LTWS is putting on Little Shop of Horrors, a horror comedy musical with a cult following.

UNSCA Performances
- There are regular and spectacular performances coming this fall through UNC School of the Arts, including the Fall Chamber Music Festival, the UNCSA Symphony Orchestra, and many wonderful guest musicians.
Community Events

Boutique Crawl (Oct 5)
- Forsyth Woman Magazine’s Boutique Crawl is a fun way to support local businesses and make new friends.

Ardmore RAH Fun Run (Oct 19)
- Walk or run in this Fun Run, 5K, and 10K to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC. The race is open to all, and volunteers are also appreciated!

Walk to End Alzheimer’s (Nov 2)
- This annual event, put on by the Alzheimer’s Association, is a 1-to-2-mile walk, starting at the ballpark. Start a team and begin fundraising to make a difference!
